Join handstand and flexibility coach Elise Ingenito, owner of Balance Fitness + Flexibility, for a 2-hour workshop that focuses on the fundamentals of hand balance with an emphasis on flexibility and end range strength.
This beginner friendly workshop will cover all the setup necessary for a safe hand balance practice - from wrist preparation and proper body alignment, to strengthening and stretching drills. We’ll go over the basic scissor entry, how to bail out or “fall” safely and how to spot your partner. You’ll learn strengthening and balancing drills that will allow you to work towards a freestanding handstand.
Flexibility plays a crucial role in hand balance. During this workshop, we will assess your current range of motion to determine whether we need to increase your range of motion or maybe just learn to control the range you already have. Either way, increasing your active range of motion is the key to advancing your hand balance practice.
A solid hand balance practice requires dedication and effort, as well as time and patience. The goal of this workshop is to leave you with the tools needed to continue to develop balance, strength and flexibility for your hand balance journey. Let’s get upside down!
